To quiz yourself on each whale ID name :
1. For each random whale image displayed, try to guess the ID name of the whale.
2. Hold your mouse over the image and (in a second) you will see the ID name displayed as a "tooltip". (If
the "tooltip" does not appear with your browser, you can instead click on the image to see the ID name
displayed in a message box - note that the message box requires Javascript to be enabled.)
3. Click the "Next Critter" button to display the next random whale image.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 to continue.Alternately, to drill yourself on each whale ID name :
1. Move and then leave your mouse over the image area and you will see the ID name displayed as a "tooltip".
2. Hit "F5" on your keyboard to advance to "the next critter" and see its image and ID name. (Depending
on your browser, you may have to slightly nudge the mouse each time to get the "tooltip" to display.)
3. Repeat steps 1-2 to continue.
Notes :
1. Each image is generated randomly, and once in a while images will indeed (naturally, randomly) repeat.
2. I believe that this quiz function is somewhat browser-independent, but I would appreciate feedback from
users with Macs (I tested this on a Windows XP PC) and with various browsers (I tested this with Internet
Explorer 7.0, Avant Browser 11.5, Opera 8.5, and Firefox 2.0) - please let me know which operating
system and which browser(s) you have tried it on and how well (or how crummy) it works. Thanks.
